British Museum Deputy Director Speaks on Cultural Landscape of Holy Land on 11 September
On Tuesday 11 September at 8pm, Dr Jonathan Williams, deputy director of the British Museum, will take us on a journey through the cultural landscape of the Holy Land in Jesus’ time on earth. There will be lots of maps and history and archaeology, and St Peter’s fish!!
Jesus of Nazareth was a Galilean Jew who grew up on the edge of the mighty Roman Empire in a region where people spoke different languages, including Greek, and were part of an international Jewish community that stretched from Western Europe to Iran.
This is a free event, taking place at St Mary’s Parish Hall, and all are welcome.
