Come Along to Community Churchyard Events: 8-16 June
Come and enjoy this special public space, open to you year-round, offering a haven of wildlife, flowers, trees and colour.
No need to book. Talks, tours, quizzes & walks all free:
St Mary with St Alban churchyard was the only burial ground in Teddington until the end of the 19th century. It is almost an acre of greenery, and the parish shares its upkeep and development with Richmond Council.
Be part of the celebrations from 8-16 June:
Saturday 8 June
12noon. Illustrated talk in church about the church & churchyard
Sunday 9 June
9 & 10am opening of the celebrations at services
Over the afternoon, a focus on the churchyard with self-guided tours & quizzes, and Welcomers on hand
3-5pm: Teas in the Parish Hall and Handbells: offering delicious homemade cakes and cream teas (St Mary's Parish Hall, Langham Rd. TW11 9HF)
Monday 10 - Friday 14
Sheets in church for self-guided tours on graves, birds and bees. Also a quiz and Prayer Walks - scroll down for online copies. Come at a time to suit you. There will also be leaflets providing information on how to Adopt a Grave
Saturday 15 June
10am. Illustrated talk in church about the church and its development
11am-12pm: Launch Day for Buy a Brick in church, for the extension and new facilities.
Buy one of 100 limited edition fundraising bricks for £100 to be part of the legacy of this historic community project. You will be invited to the opening ceremony and offered a place on the ‘Bricklayer Wall of Fame’ in the Project’s Commemorative Book of Donors and on the website.
