Get Involved in Teddington in Flower on 23 April
Thank you to everyone who made Teddington in Flower such a success, the footfall through the church and churchyard was a joy to see. It all got underway with grey skies and drizzle, but soon the Deputy Major arrived and the sun shone through. Large numbers enjoyed the flower arrangements, listened to the handbells and were interested in the churchyard, all with the added draw of the delicious churchyard teas which raised a staggering £901.25 for Building Anew. The atmosphere was brilliant, and all the hard work and effort really paid off.
On Sunday 23rd April, St. Mary with St. Alban is participating in Teddington Society’s ‘Teddington in Flower’. Teddington gardens, ranging from walled to wildlife, cottage to artist, will be open from 2-6pm, with plants and art available to buy at some.
This all includes our beautiful church and churchyard with:
- churchyard teas available from 2.15-5.00pm
- handbell recitals in church at 2.30 & 3.30pm
- special flower arrangements in church all day
- Adopt a Grave representatives on hand in the churchyard
Also, a plant sale at the front of the Landmark.
Can you help?
Those arranging flowers would appreciate donated greenery and flowers being brought, and put in buckets at the back of the church between 3pm, Fri 21 - 10am, Sat 22.
Children are invited to bring a jam jar (can be decorated) of flowers, for a special display in church too.
Calling all Bakers for the teas, or could you take a turn at serving them for an hour, or setting up/clearing away? Sign up at back of church or email the parish office: suzanne@teddingtonparish.org
Those wanting to get involved in the care and maintenance of the churchyard, perhaps by adopting a grave will have an opportunity to talk to Alexandra Ruffer, alex@teddingtonparish.com, now responsible for the scheme, along with other Adopters.
We look forward to welcoming you all to a wonderful spring afternoon enjoying our green spaces as they emerge from winter.
Teddington Society Early Bird tickets to view the private gardens are £10 (£12 on the day) while accompanied under 16s are free. Use this QR code or visit https://www.teddingtonsociety.org.uk for more information.
