Alpha Course Starting 14 January
Pondering the Leftovers – Invitation to Alpha
After the celebration of Christmas there are usually plenty of leftovers. Perhaps this season has left you pondering the mystery of the Christmas story. If that’s the case, we’re keen to provide an opportunity to explore some of the claims that are made and other questions you might have about the Christian faith.
Alpha is a series of interactive sessions to discuss life and the Christian faith in an informal, fun and friendly environment. The course is a great opportunity to take time out of the business of everyday to give time to the big questions of life.
When I first came to Alpha I was concerned that the format would be restricting or that the group would be full of people who repeated easy answers. This wasn’t the case, Alpha is for exploring issues of faith with people who are inquisitive and open to listening to the questions and experiences of others.
Each session starts with a meal at 7.30pm and will be held in St Mary’s Parish Hall, Langham Road. The course will run from Tuesday 14 January – Tuesday 24 March 2020, with a break for half-term. Following the meal, we’ll show a 20 minute film which feeds into the group discussion.
