Confirmation Courses Start in June
On 7 October, the Bishop for Kensington will be coming to St Mary with St Alban for a Confirmation Service. We would love to have a good number of young people and adults to present to him. Our preparation courses, involving 8 sessions, start in June and will be led by members of the clergy team.
These offer the opportunity to learn about the basics of the Christian faith and to think about making your own commitment to following Christ and participating in the life of the church. The courses are open to anyone who wishes to set out on a journey of faith, no matter how tentative they may feel to begin with.
Here’s a few thoughts from Julien Cozens who participated last time: “I found the course thought-provoking, challenging and educational but also fun and a lovely opportunity to meet people. It made us all ask questions of ourselves and our relationship with God, but in a very supportive, gentle and understanding atmosphere.
“The culmination of this journey for me was both my Baptism and Confirmation, along with a number of other adults and young people from churches in our area, at a beautiful, joyous ceremony in front of my family and friends at St Mary with St Alban.
“I would recommend anybody considering being confirmed to take part in the course that is run in such a friendly and thoughtful way by Joe and his team.”
The course for young people will run on Sunday evenings, starting on 10 June while the course for adults will run on Wednesday evenings, starting on 13 June.
